August 2006 Newsletter Hi all you cool cats and kittens, Hope your summer is going well...mine is FLYING by!!!! I can't believe that school's back in already...I know, I say that every year...but it's true! Before you know it, October will be here...and so will my new CD Sugarfoot! I don't have a ton of news...I'm just plain busy touring and getting the new CD ready for the world! WAHOO!!! This has been a long time coming...one long crazy journey of a CD is almost over ...and that's the best news I can think of! I do have just a few things to tell ya that I bet you'll be interested in.... ----------------------------------------- SUGARFOOT How many times have I already been asked, "Michelle, what's Sugarfoot?!" Well, I'm gonna tell ya... I always thought of it as the very good reason why my foot was always shaking and tapping and moving around like I'd just drank a tall coca-cola - it was my sugar foot! As a wild child, I could never keep still.. that is up until about a year or two ago...I think it was my move out of the big busy city that slowed it down....my mama says it's nerves...anyways.... Then I found that the sugar foot is also the name of a dance from the prohibition/swing era. You kind of swivel - shimmy your feet around until you've moved your whole body in a circle...at the same time, you shake your hands, fingers spread and palms out down by your side! Well, I make it sound like some kind of fit... words just don't do it justice! Next time you see me with a drummer, i'll do it for ya - gotta have a drummer, cause the Sugarfoot takes 2 hands!! I decided to name my CD Sugarfoot, because it's a fun, bluesy rockin' record that will make you dance and sing and shake your sugarfoot!
